The implications of Domtar's indefinite closure of the Cornwall pulp mill and one paper machine extended well beyond the boundaries of the City of Cornwall where the mill is located. A group of partners with a long history of working together recognized the need to understand the situation more precisely and to take action to either mitigate or help shape the changes unfolding in the broader community. Or, "When the world hands you a lemon; make lemonade." This publication is a consolidation of five reports prepared by leading experts in a variety of fields. It demonstrates the importance of thorough research, the integration of innovative ideas and the dissemination of the knowledge and tools necessary for sound environmental and economic action.
