Workshop Series

The Caring for Your Land Series of workshop kits are available to groups interested in promoting wise use of our water, soils and natural resources. The kits can be reserved for a period of up to 3 weeks.

The kits are normally distributed in a binder including a PowerPoint presentation and/or colour overheads, detailed speaker notes, presentation handouts, fact sheets, and other materials to enhance your presentation.

They are offered FREE of charge. Shipping costs incurred are paid by the user group. As part of the loan process, an evaluation form must be filled and submitted which will permit the Eastern Ontario Stewardship Council to evaluate the content and delivery of the program.

NOTE: We encourage users to make their own copies and manipulate the presentation to best serve their respective target groups. However, the initial kit sent must be returned within three weeks so that it may be available to other users.

Species At Risk

The thought of extinction of a species evokes a sadness at the thought of the finality of the event, the impossibility of recovery, and the fact that it`s often our mismanagement that has removed the species from our children`s world.

The concern for species at risk goes well beyond such sentimental thoughts, and this seven-part workshop explores those values that species at risk represent. It discusses many of the threatened and endangered species in Ontario, and reviews the legislation and programs in place for species recovery.
