About the Urban Forest Network

A Working Group consisting of communities, agencies and individuals in eastern Ontario who have an interest in promoting healthy urban forests.


The Eastern Ontario Urban Forest Network exists to link individuals, communities and agencies working on urban forest issues:

  • To transfer urban forest knowledge and science between communities, politicians, municipal staff, local organizations and individuals.
  • To help identify new opportunities in terms of public information, education, partnerships, funding and communications.
  • To develop and communicate common messages, and to educate municipalities, communities and the public of eastern Ontario about urban forests.
  • To promote municipal planning that recognizes and enhances sustainable urban forests in eastern Ontario.
  • To raise the profile of significant woodlands.
